Forodahni Gardens is a square on the ocean. It is a beautiful location to visit during the day but it really comes alive at night. Every night there are food vendors that set up shop offering every kind of Zanzibar food you can imagine. Zanzibar Pizza, seafood, gyros and so, so much more. They also have the classic sugar cane juice that is pressed right in front of you.
It is very busy and feels slightly unsafe but we didn’t have any problems and it doesn’t seem like very many people do. In Zanzibar in general and especially here not everyone speaks good English so you may have to but your Swahili and Sign Language skills to use.
Don’t worry about spending a lot of money on dinner here, you can save that for Emerson On Hurumzi rooftop tea house! It seems like $5 would be sufficient for a big dinner here! If you are in Stone Town visiting Forodahni Garden night time market is a must!
