Our blog recently got hacked and infected with some bad code (don’t understand what that means or why people do it) but it had our site down for a bit so we’re happy to have fixed the issues and to be back and sharing P A R I S with you on this Saturday!!!
Oh Paris, how do I put my love for you into words? I know it cannot be done. But here is my feeble attempt.
I loved Paris, I mean like head over heels in love with a city. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when going to Paris, there were so many other places I was more excited about than Paris I didn’t have a lot of expectations or hype going into our 5 days we planned to spend there. Maybe that made it easier for the city to just blow my mind.
It’s hard to put my finger on what made me love Paris so much. I’ll try. First of all, every single building in gorgeous, like every one. They all look alike and it’s very enchanting. Also, almost every café is designed and branded beautifully. Here in Cincinnati, one of Joe and my favorite places to hang out and eat is called The Taste of Belgium, we love it because they not only serve perfect food (chicken and waffle perfection) but they have a well branded logo & design concept throughout, a great atmosphere, friendly staff, etc. In Paris, there is a café that has all those things on every single corner. The brilliant branding, design, logos, and typography is literally everywhere. You can get inspired in 30 seconds walking around for your morning croissant and coffee. And who doesn’t love to be inspired?
Next, the food. WOW. Sadly, we didn’t eat any French food at all while in Paris, oops. We were lulled into these amazing international restaurants! We had Vietnamese, Meditterean, Italian, Mexican, and a few other international foods that were just as good as eating them in their land of origin!!! Oh Paris, you fed me so well. Just a side note, plan on spending a small fortune to eat in Paris, that’s just how it is. We did buy some groceries and ate in our kitchen in our flat a few times but even groceries are expensive, just a heads up. While we’re talking about food let’s just mention the fact that the macaroons are outta this world delectable. I ate them everyday, twice a day, maybe more. LUV.
Something else I just LOVED was the little streets that were basically market streets, they would be lined with bakeries, flower boutiques, butcheries, cheese shops, and clothing boutiques. My favorite street we visited like this was Rue Montorgueil, it was so dreamy!!!! We walked around for hours and popped in all the shops lining the street. I loved that so much about Paris. The flower shops on the streets were so adorably divine. I LOVED the flower shops. On top of the food Paris has about 500 million cool things to see and do, the city is FULL of exquisite churches, museums, & landmarks. I think you could spend a lifetime exploring Paris and it wouldn’t be enough time. I could keep going on and on about the trillion things I love about Paris, but I think you get the idea.
We spent 5 days there and I really felt like we saw and did a lot. We saw the Eiffel tower, Arc de Triumps, Champs Elyusses, The Opera House, The Lourve, the lovelock bride (SO COOL!!), Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle Church, Jardin Luxembourg, Montmortre, & Versailles and more (full blog post coming on Versailles). Whew. We are going to write reviews on each place and share about what we wish we did differently with our 5 days in Paris, and what we did that we loved coming up soon! For now enjoy a few of my favorite pictures from Paris!
