Èze village is a well-known touristic town on the French Riviera directly between Nice & Monaco and no wonder it’s popular – the panoramic Mediterranean Sea & mountain views from atop the hill are magnificent. The village of Èze dates back to 2000 BC! It is a medieval village filled with beauty and charm. There are a lot of art galleries, shops, and restaurants to explore.
You can easily take a bus from Nice to arrive in Èze. From the center of town take bus 82 stop in Èze. It is quite a hike up through the village but the higher you explore through town the better the views get.
We explored around the town for a while and ate at a lovely café with divine views. There is also a very lovely perfume factory you can take a tour of right in Èze. We then took an hour hike down the mountain to the coast of Èze. The hike was totally worth it, even though it was down hill it was a difficult hike. The path was not well maintained and quite steep. Definitely be careful on the steep paths covered in loose rock. It is free to go on the trails, and we would definitely recommend the hike town to the coast. We found a lovely beach and spent the evening soaking up the sun. The beaches in Èze are very rocky but the water is unbelievably blue and the beach was not crowded at all. The beach is a public beach but is set in front of multi million dollar French Villas, I enjoyed looking at the houses as much as I enjoyed being on the beach.
Definitely take a couple hours to see Èze Village if you are going to be on the French Riviera. If you have time, do the hike, but if not it’s worth it to just explore the ancient village!
