A couple weeks ago I wrote a blog about “Beating those Post-Vaca Blues” and man, have I been feeling blue this week. It’s a combination of missing Kenya and our kids there, and not gallivanting around Europe any longer. Joe is back to work, and I start next week, so the monotony of real life is creeping up and we’ve been feelin’ it. Also, the high of being back in our cute little home and seeing all the people we love most is simmering down. So I’m taking my own advice and we re-created special moments from our trip.
Thus, last night we came up with the idea to go pick up gyros & baklava from the BEST little Greek place in Cincinnati, Sebastians. After eating gyros for a week in Greece, Sebastian’s gyros are just as good, if not better than anything we had in Greece. We picked up our food and headed down to Washington Park to enjoy the gorgeous golden hour light and lovely end of summer/fall-ish weather we’ve been having here in Cincy lately. We just laughed and remembered all the sweet moments from Greece. Savoring and remembering felt good. Instead of feeling sad that we aren’t in Africa or Europe it helped us to get back to a place of thankfulness for our sweet adventures together.
So, go ahead, savor, remember, & cultivate thankfulness!
